A bit about me: I am a dream chaser not afraid to take the road less travelled.
I have been thinking about having a website where I can share my favourite quotes and experiences as I go through this beautiful and hard thing called life, and I would like to start with this one.
"A warrior is worthless unless he rises above others and stands strong in the midst of the storm."Yamamoto Tsunetomo
What good is a warrior if he or she, doesn't have the discipline to rise above others or the trials in life? What good is he if he cowers down in the midst of the storm, whether it is a physical attack or an issue of honor? You must have the intestinal fortitude to stand strong in the midst of the storm. You must rise above your challenges; rise above the other people who allow the storm to break them.
When I refer to rising above others, I don't mean thinking you are better than others; I mean that you rise above others by the way that you live your life. When you truly live a life of honor and integrity, you purposely live a life that is superior to those who do not live by honor. And this should show in how you respond to life’s challenges.
If you don't have the courage to live a life of honor, or to stand strong when the chips are down, what makes you any different than anybody else? How is that being a true warrior? Warrior up and stand strong in the midst of life's storms! Rise to the level of the superior man.
The only way that you can stand strong in the midst of the storm is to be prepared before the storm sets in. You must prepare yourself to meet life’s trials. If you wait until the storm winds start to blow, then you will be unprepared to stand strong.
Prepare in the good times for the bad times. Never rest on your laurels. Continue to prepare yourself daily for the inevitable storms that will blow into your life. If you are unprepared to meet the storm, you have no one to blame but yourself.
